Christmas morning in photos

Christmas morning began as all Christmas mornings should begin. “Mama! Papa! It’s Christmas morning! Can we get up and open presents?!”
Thankfully I had cleaned up the night before so very little prep work had to be done before the kids could get up and open the gifts we bought and made for them.
It was so much fun watching them open their gifts. Funny how when you are a kid the best part is opening gifts yourself, and when you become a parent, the best part is watching your kids open them.
Anyway, I’ll skip the meandering thoughts and show you what our morning looked like in pictures.
One last note – these photos do not show all of the gifts we bought each other, but are a sampling of the fun we had.
The peace and quiet of Christmas morning, before the flurry of flying wrapping paper…
They obviously weren’t anxious to open gifts! :::smile:::
Chickie couldn’t get past the candy. We had to distract her from the Smarties to show her what else was in her stocking.
Playdoh, mittens, candy, toy animals, and more… stocking stuffers galore!
What could it be?!
N-scale figurines for Buddy’s N-scale model train set. One of the few things he asked for.
Pal has been building haulers for his tractors out of Lego, so this was the perfect last minute find.
Snowmen ornaments for all.
Girlie loves to sing, so we bought her a kids microphone – it was a hit!
Tools are often among our gifts for the kids – certain ones, like this lighter, will be used only with permission.
Nail polish for the little lady.
Admiring the loot.
Shiny shoes for the girl who loves sparkles.
A mini mouse costume.
Rings for the princess!
The kids and I bought Papa a new set of headphones, ones he had been oohing and aahing over for a while – totally surprised to get them for Christmas! Their gift to me was $ for a clothes shopping spree. Perfect timing as my jeans are all worn out and I haven’t gone shopping for a year and a half! (To my favorite used clothing store of course.)
A layout for his N-scale model trains. Now it just needs some mountains and grass.
The rest of the morning was spent building new Lego kits, trying on new jewelry, and otherwise organizing and playing with new toys.
Then off to the grandparents for dinner and more gifts. Pictures of Christmas with family to come…
